Determining unmet need and scoping solutions, 5th July 2016

Tuesday 5th July 2016 8:30-13:00 (Breakfast from 8:30am) Durham County Cricket Club Chester le Street

This event will include looking at ways to observe and identify unmet needs; explore tools you can use for scoping solutions; and look at what sort of information is needed to start building a ‘case’ for review.

  • We often get bombarded with clever solutions to every-day problems. But what about in the healthcare setting? How do you observe and quantify clinical unmet need?  Why and where are there gaps which impact on the patient experience?
  • Have you ever asked yourself…‘it would be so much better if it did ….’?
  • Is it unique to your organisation or is it more widespread?
  • How do you quantify and properly observe the problem to help shape a possible solution?
  • What would the solution have to look like or do to solve the problem?
  • Is it feasible and technically possible? Is it cost effective? Are you sure that there is nothing already available or in development which you just don’t know about?

This course is available to all AHSN Innovation Scouts but is also relevant to those with an interest in innovation or those who have come up with an idea before. As this will be an interactive session, numbers will be limited to ensure delegates get the most out of the day. Priority will be given to Innovation Scouts who have attended previous learning events. If you would like to sign up please contact Rachel at rachel.turnbull@ahsn-nenc.org.uk.
