Shared Decision Making Training Event, 8th June 2016

The Academic Health Science Network for North East and North Cumbria would like to invite you to a Shared Decision Making (SDM) Training Event, aimed at front-line primary care clinicians including GPs and practice nurses.  This event is aimed specifically at SDM around atrial fibrillation although the principles and skills are transferrable. Also the week of 8th June is Heart Rhythm Week, please visit the following link for further information The objectives of the training session are:

  • Understand the theory behind SDM and how this helps patient compliance
  • Learn the facts about warfarin and NOACs
  • Know how to apply SDM in practice and plan your own SDM
  • Understand interpretation of NICE CG180
  • Know what resources are available to help with SDM
